How Does CBD Work?
What does CBD stand for?
CBD is short for Cannabidiol, which is one of 113 naturally occurring compounds (cannabinoids) found in hemp, a strain of the cannabis plant.
How does CBD interact with our body?
To understand how CBD works, we need to understand how the Endocannabinoid system works. We all have an endocannabinoid system within us, which is a cell-signalling system that targets specific cannabinoids in our bodies. It contains cannabinoid receptors which help to balance the body’s essential functions, such as sleep, mood and appetite to support our general health and wellbeing.
How long does it take for CBD oil to work?
The key with CBD is patience. Everyone is different and your experience will depend on several factors such as age, gender, weight and even your tolerance level – if you’re a new user, your body may be more susceptible to the effects of CBD.Â
While some people may feel the effects straight away, it can generally take up to 3-4 weeks of consistent usage to notice results. This is down to the cumulative effect as the CBD builds up in the bloodstream according to your body’s required level.Â
From CBD oils and sprays to CBD edibles, there’s many different ways to start incorporating CBD into your life. When it comes to dosage, there is no one-size-fits-all but for the best results, we recommend following our tips to gradually introduce CBD to your daily routine. For long-term benefits, consistency is the most important factor so remember to keep up with your daily intake.
