Managing Back-To-School Stress

Managing Back-To-School Stress

As August draws to a close and the “back-to-school” season approaches, we understand that managing stress and maintaining a sense of calm is essential, whether you’re a parent or a student, this period of change can induce feelings of unease and anxiety.  At Love Hemp, we're dedicated to promoting overall well-being, and believe that a balanced mind and body are key to conquering daily challenges.  So if you’re someone caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season, our carefully crafted CBD products can support your journey to tranquillity.

Getting your head in the right space for this termly adjustment is the first step to a smooth transition, and in order to realign your mental headspace, we’re offering the following tips to help you feel at peace for the upcoming change.

Start Early

Begin adjusting your routine a week or so before term time starts. Gradually shift your sleep schedule and meal times closer to what they will be during the academic year so this can help to make the first week back less jarring.

Organise and Plan

Whether you’re a student or parent, organisation and planning is key to a stress-free life.  Create a schedule or planner to outline your study sessions or working hours and always allow time for social gatherings too. Aiming to pre-plan your weekly meals is also a wise move, so this doesn’t become an additional stress!  Cooking larger evening meals so there’s enough left over for lunch the next day is a great way to make your weekly meals more cost effective and less stressful.

Practice Self-Care

Be sure not to neglect your physical and mental well-being.  Adjusting to change of any form can be taxing on our mental health, and returning to term-time routine is no exception.  Revisiting a not-so-familiar weekly structure once again, and learning to be disciplined throughout the week with punctuality and routine may take a few weeks to adjust to.   But there are ways this can be made easier. Make sure you're getting enough sleep, eating nutritious meals, and engaging in regular exercise to boost endorphins (the natural feel good hormone released by our bodies). Try to incorporate relaxation techniques at the start or end of the day like deep breathing, meditation or mindfulness to manage stress, and if you need a little extra help try introducing CBD into your daily routine, you may be amazed at how it makes you feel.

We recently carried out a survey on Instagram where we asked why you use CBD.  The results speak for themselves in terms of how important regular supplementation of CBD is to support your physical and mental wellbeing:

If you’re new to CBD, try experimenting with the different products available and find which ones work for you.  Oil drops are the most popular, however, many people prefer to take CBD edibles or capsules as they’re discreet and easy to take on the go.  It’s all about finding the right product, the right dose and being consistent.  Click here for more information on dosing.

Connect With Friends

And finally, ensure social time! Humans are social beings and we rely on time to relax and connect with others in a social (non-work-related) setting.  Reconnect with old friends and classmates, and even make it a goal to make new ones!  Building a support network around you can provide a sense of camaraderie and alleviate feelings of isolation.

So instead of feeling fear and unease at the looming adjustment in structure and routine, you should be feeling as cool as a cucumber by adopting the above tips to help this transition be as smooth as possible.  And remember, whenever the going gets tough, you’re only a few CBD drops away from a calmer you.
