Getting creative to boost your wellbeing

Getting creative to boost your wellbeing

Looking after your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health, and there are many ways you can do this. Creativity as an emotional outlet is a popular way to boost your wellbeing, with lots of easy and inexpensive ways to explore this. Here, we share 3 ways you can get creative to help you lead a happy and healthy lifestyle.

Create a happy playlist

Music and podcasts are a great way to boost your overall wellbeing. Instead of diverting to the same playlists over and over, why not task yourself with creating a new playlist? Focus on finding new music that you may not have listened to before and add them all into a new playlist. Then the next time you’re in need of an audio pick-me-up, just press play!

Get crafty

Colouring in and crafting is a great way to focus on the task at hand, whilst switching off from everything else. Whether you sit with a pen and paper and doodle freely, complete a colouring sheet or learn to crochet, getting involved in any craft is a great way to distract yourself from any negative feelings and encourage a positive mindset.

Photography snapshots

You don’t need a fancy, high resolution camera to snap some beautiful photographs. Try heading out for a scenic walk or to your local beach to capture some natural photographs. It could be of anything you see that makes you feel relaxed or happy: the sea, trees, birds, flowers – anything that draws your attention. You can even make a mood board or scrapbook of the all the photos you have taken, so you can look back on them and re-engage in those happy memories.
