5 tips to help you be more productive, focus and get stuff done

Whether you’re easily distracted, a procrastinator or just lacking a little extra motivation, being productive and getting stuff done can be difficult.  If you’re looking for some tips on how to be super productive and make the most of your day, then look no further, we’re here to help!

Set objectives

When you’ve got a busy day ahead, it’s easy to become overwhelmed and in turn, become less productive. Try creating a list of objectives you want to reach throughout the day and prioritise them in order of urgency. By working step-by-step, it allows your mind to slow down and process the tasks in bite-size chunks, making it more manageable to focus on one thing at a time.

Avoid distractions

If you’re easily distracted or not, there is always something around to temporarily distract you from the job at hand. Being aware of this is key to having a productive day. It could be your phone, background chatter or a flashing TV screen, but by taking these factors away and creating a distraction-free period, it can help you focus and get your stuff done in a highly productive way.

Take scheduled breaks

Remember, be kind to yourself - nobody can be 100% productive every second of the day. The mentality that you should be, can end up being counterproductive. A 10-minute break to get some fresh air, enjoy a hot drink or have some quiet time is all it takes to rest and recharge before conquering your next task.

Tidy home, tidy mind

We’ve all heard the saying, ‘tidy home, tidy mind’, but it isn’t just for keeping your house clean – it’s relevant for creating any productive space. It could be keeping your desk tidy at work, filing the bills you’re about to work your way through or creating a quiet, chaos-free zone in your home - a tidy space creates a calm mind and helps to keep your mind focused.

Reward yourself

When you have a hectic day, it’s easy to rush from one chore to the next without even taking a moment to realise that you have completed something and done a good job. Try giving yourself a small reward every time you complete something. This could be a tasty treat or even just 5 minutes scrolling through Instagram – a little pick-me-up will do you the world of good.
