Easter is a time for celebrating with loved ones and with this week’s roadmap changes, many are embracing some much-needed spring positivity! Which is why you’d be forgiven for forgetting that Easter is just around the corner, this weekend.
Whether you’re staying indoors, making the most of the garden or heading to a local park, we have some egg-cellent ideas for celebrating Easter safely this year.
Bake some hot cross buns
The cross that sits on top of these delicious fruit buns is a symbol of the crucifixion, which is why these were historically eaten on Good Friday. Whilst hot cross buns are now eaten whenever we feel like a touch of spice in a warming bun, there’s nothing better than freshly baked tasty treats, best served toasted with butter.
Easter egg hunt
Easter egg hunts are a fun family tradition and is one that can easily be replicated either indoors or in the garden. Hide eggs in different locations around your home or turn it into a traditional egg and spoon race to keep even the younger family members entertained – just make sure you boil the eggs in advance to avoid an unfortunate mess!
Virtual day trips
Days out might be out of the question, but thanks to the wonders of modern technology it’s possible to enjoy a trip to the zoo, museum or theatre from the comfort of your sofa, so there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Follow the rainbow
Children across the country have been taking part in #rainbowtrail – movement that involves putting handmade pictures of rainbows in your windows at home. Little ones will love displaying their artwork, whilst it’s great for older children who are more aware of current events, to have something positive they can do for the community whilst staying inside.
Games night
Easter, like Christmas, is the perfect time to pull out your favourite board games. Whether it’s chess, Jenga, or Monopoly, there are some classics that everyone in the family knows and loves to play.
